Operation Santa!

This year, Radio Chelmsford, The Body Shop, Chelmsford and L&Q Foundation are supporting our Operation Santa. We are appealing for Christmas donations for the YMCA’s residents, children, and young people using their childcare and youth services. The YMCA have set up Christmas boxes in their reception for you to drop off your gifts, or alternatively you can drop them off at The Body Shop in Chelmsford’s High Chelmer shopping centre. Volunteers from YMCA Essex will wrap the gifts and deliver them to the our residents, children, and young people, so that they have something to open on Christmas morning. For more information on the types suitable gifts, please see below. Brighten up someone’s Christmas this year, by supporting Operation Santa.

The kind of things we would like to be able to give our children and young people are:

In partnership with The Body Shop

We’re delighted to have the support of Chelmsford’s The Body Shop who are helping us to provide gifts for our children and young people, by asking their customers to participate in our Christmas Appeal.

In partnership with Radio Chelmsford

Radio Chelmsford is a commercial digital radio station covering Chelmsford and surrounding villages. Radio Chelmsford have been very helpful by broadcasting adverts to promote our Operation Santa! campaign.

You can listen to them live here: https://www.radiochelmsford.com/player/default/

In partnership with L&Q Foundation

The L&Q Foundation have generously donated many presents for our Operation Santa! Christmas Appeal, for which we are very grateful and know our service users will be also. Below is an introduction to the company.

At L&Q we believe passionately that people’s health, security and happiness depend on where they live. We house around 250,000 people in more than 105,000 homes, primarily across London and the South East – but we’re more than just a registered charitable housing association. We create better places to live by delivering high quality homes, neighbourhoods and housing services that people can afford. With nearly 60 years’ experience, we have what it takes to do things right and provide long-term support to our communities where they need it.

The Arbour is our latest offering at Beaulieu, Chelmsford. This new neighbourhood will add 255 Shared Ownership homes to the expanding community here, ideal for first time buyers looking to get onto the property ladder. Residents here will enjoy access to the extensive local amenities, schools and open public spaces being built as part of the wider Beaulieu development, alongside a new bus service and an upcoming railway station.
